Enterprise Investment Scheme Extended

In the Autumn Statement, the Chancellor advised that the government will legislate to extend the lifetime of enterprise investment schemes and venture capital trusts for at least 10 years.

This is excellent news for thousands of start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) who will continue to be supported each year, when they are potentially facing some of the biggest challenges in accessing growth capital.

The current schemes were due to be withdrawn in April 2025, for which there will now be legislation to extend the enterprise investment scheme (EIS) and venture capital trusts (VCT) to 2035. This is excellent news for business looking for investors in the UK.
