Odoo Experience 2026: AI, Innovation and the Odoo Community

Odoo Experience 2026: AI, Innovation and the Odoo Community

Three days, a packed programme, plenty of conversations and a very tired journey home – Odoo Experience 2026 was certainly worth the trip.

Three members of the Kennedys Accounting Odoo team headed to Belgium for, Odoo Experience 2026 joining thousands of people from across the Odoo community to see what is coming next, meet other Odoo users and partners and share ideas about how businesses are using the platform.

And there was certainly plenty to talk about!

Odoo v20 puts AI firmly centre stage

Thursday started with Fabien Pinckaers’ keynote, where he spoke for over two hours and provided a detailed look at the future of Odoo.

One of the biggest themes was clear: Odoo v20 is taking another significant step towards AI-driven ERP automation.

AI is becoming even more deeply integrated into the platform, with ‘natural-language workflows’, AI agents capable of creating and updating records, connections to external AI tools and improvements across many of Odoo’s applications.

This evidences that there is a huge amount of potential here!

Businesses should, however, approach AI with the same care they would apply to any technology handling their financial and commercial information. Automation can save considerable time, but the processes behind it still need to be understood, monitored and controlled.

A particular focus on accountants

After the keynote, much of Thursday’s programme focused on accountants – something that particularly caught the attention of the Kennedys Accounting team.

For us, this highlighted an important point!

Odoo has developed into a hugely capable ERP system, bringing together areas such as sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, CRM and accounting. But the finance function is fundamental to making all of those connected systems useful.

What’s the point of having an integrated ERP system if the accounting isn’t properly connected to it?

This is an area where we believe the Kennedys Accounting team can make a real difference. Our team combines traditional accounting expertise with specialist Odoo knowledge, helping businesses make sure that their accounting works properly within their Odoo environment.

Friday was all about the Odoo community, with plenty of opportunities to catch up with people we already know as well as meeting new faces.

It was great to catch up with Will McMahon from Drink The Purple Juice and hear about his plans for 2027 and the work being done to support and develop the wider Odoo community.

We also caught up with Stephen from Sixo, who was showcasing Barro – another great example of how Odoo can support a business in the start-up stage.

Andy from Sapentia was also very enthusiastic about the pre-release of Odoo v20, and there was plenty of discussion throughout the day about the new functionality and what it could mean for businesses.

Of course, those were just a few of the people we met. One of the best things about Odoo Experience is the sheer range of businesses, developers, partners, accountants and users who come together and share their experiences.

A community that continues to grow

One thing that really stood out to us was the continued energy and growth of the Odoo community.

With Odoo reporting further growth, the scale of the platform and the ecosystem around it continues to increase.

For us, that makes being part of the Odoo community particularly exciting. We’re not simply interested in using Odoo as an accounting system. We want to understand where the platform is going, how businesses are using it and how we can help our clients get the most from it.

After three busy days, the team finally headed home – tired, but with plenty of ideas, conversations and plans to take forward.

Odoo Experience 2026 certainly gave us plenty to think about.

And now the real work begins by helping our clients make the most of what’s coming next!
